Though Gamebits is a video game website, I occasionally feel compelled to offer a Public Service Announcement. Now is such a time.

I have many friends and family members who have good intentions, but not the courtesy to check the veracity of emails they receive, and so end up forwarding them in virus-like fashion. The Internet is home to a good many stories, and most of them are untrue. Before doing your friends a disservice of spreading such spam, please check your facts at one of these sites:

Do so, and you'll find that the Windows file JDBGMGR.EXE is not a virus; boycotting Mobil and Exxon will not drive down gasoline prices – it is more likely to drive them up; the Internet Mind Reader is an exercise in mathematics and misdirection – nothing more; email petitions do not work; and finally, Bill Gates is not beta-testing an email tracking program.

If you need any further proof (or just a good laugh), click here.

And, in the off-chance that you do send me one of the actual 14,000+ Windows viruses out there, it's unlikely to be one of the dozens that would affect Gamebits' Macintosh hardware. But thanks for your concern.

Release dates updated. Many interesting titles appear on these lists: Spy Hunter 2, Viewtiful Joe, Resident Evil Dead Aim, two new PS2 Final Fantasy games…

Since I get more email on this one topic than on the entire rest of the site combined, let me state: no, my copy of Intelligent Qube is not for sale; and no, I don't know where else to find it, other than on eBay or other sources of used games, such as local retailers.

For the first time in – well, ever, I have a hot game to play on each of the three consoles: Skies of Arcadia (GameCube), Indiana Jones (Xbox), and Everblue 2 (PS2). Each one has uniquely appealing qualities. I'm a bit behind in posting reviews of these titles due to having been in the deep and addictive abyss of Buffy Season Three, a season that got off to a slow start but ultimately produced some of the finest moments of television ever. With the recent news that one of my all-time favorite shows is now slated for DVD, with season one of Cheers due in May, I am approaching a DVD/TV Nirvana. Now we just need the Dick Van Dyke show…

Say hello to a review of Disaster Report, a title I liken to a cross between Survivor and Spy vs. Spy II: Island Capers (though that likening may be more a manifestion of nostalgia than any actual similarities. Regardless.). It's an innovative-but-often-dull game, in the same way Prisoner of War is.

I've removed the Dreamcast reviews link from the navbar. It's been more than a year since the console's last release, and my link to the GameCube version of Skies of Arcadia will be the last addition to Gamebits' Dreamcast page. It is still there, of course, right next to the Super Nintendo reviews.
