I finished Maximo: Ghosts to Glory, a surprisingly fun game. I then went back and finished Pitfall 3D: Beyond the Jungle, too. The latter is interesting in that it's not really a 3D game, just a 3D perspective on a 2D game. Were someone writing a thesis on the evolution of 3D games, I would suggest Pitfall, Jumpin' Flash, and Super Mario 64 as case studies.
I didn't find much to phone home about in Star Wars Racer Revenge for PlayStation 2. LucasArts is a great company, but very often their games are of a quality inferior to the movies. Maybe that high bar is the problem; what games can live up to George's original trilogy?
I discovered a wiring problem with my subwoofer yesterday. A bit of work later, and my entertainment looks and sounds much better. Too bad the weather is too nice outside for me to stick myself in front of a television. Besides, after playing some of the original Sonic the Hedgehog, I have the strangest hankering to play the Ninja Gaiden trilogy and Super Mario World. That way lies madness… (as in, no sleep until I put Bloody Malth in his place, again and again)
Yet another personality quiz:
"What Pre-1985 Video Game Character Am I?"
I am Mr Do. I am sedentary by nature, enjoying passive entertainment, eating when the mood takes me, and playing with my food. I try to avoid conflict, but when I'm angered, I can be a devil - if you force me to fight, I will crush you. With apples.
Sigh.
Happy Valentine's Day. I love you too. Yes, you.
Parappa 2 and Drakan reviews up for PlayStation 2. I've been playing a lot of bad games lately - mostly bad PS2 games. I hope THQ follows through with a copy of Dark Summit for GameCube.
I must be in the mood for 3D platformers, because I was reliving the heady days of Pitfall 3D when I was granted a copy of Maximo: Ghosts to Glory. Fun game, looks great, some agonizingly frustrating jumping sequences. Film at 11.
Enough small talk. Regarding Gamebits' presence on Syndicomm, I want to clarify that this web site and the availability of reviews on this site will always be a free service. Gamebits is a business that supplies content to print media; its online activities are not intended to participate in its income. It would be nonsensical for Gamebits to follow the trend of other web sites by restricting content only to paying subscribers; the Syndicomm service is simply a fun extension of this gaming site.
That said, Gamebits is offering a free video game to every person who subscribes to Syndicomm Online. We have 140 games available for nine different systems! As the time of this posting, any of the following games could be yours:
