I couldn't think of enough to say about each individual game, so I did a joint review of Capcom's Game Boy Color games, Metal Walker & Mega Man Xtreme. Neither were really anything too special. I find it hard to be impressed by a Game Boy game in today's ultra-high-tech era. That's not to say it's impossible; remakes like Bionic Commando and Crystalis were a lot of fun. Oh well.

75% of the work involved in writing a weekly review column is finding the material. Since Ford Racing for PlayStation isn't out yet, I'll be trying something new and writing about the ReBoot Season 3 DVDs. I got the second disc this week and had a lot of fun watching it. I've seen every episode before, but I can't wait for the next two discs!

Vanishing Point review is up. TV (and cat) troubles have kept me from playing this really, really good racing game since Thursday night. I was upset - but a new TV and some manual labor later, and I'm feeling much better.

What's next? Well, I haven't done any Game Boy games in awhile, and Capcom sent me a few: Mega Man Xtreme, a Game Boy Color remake of the Super NES game Mega Man X; and Metal Walker, an RPG with one of the weirdest battle systems I've ever seen. I also received the song list for Konami's Dance Dance Revolution for PlayStation, due out in March for $59.99, including its very own Power Pad! And I thought Samba de Amigo was silly.

Vanishing Point review's done! I didn't have the space to discuss many of its gameplay modes, but I'll add more text to the online version I'll post here next week.

I took a look at what interesting games are due out in the late winter/early spring, and saw a surprising number of interesting Nintendo 64 titles. In addition to the afore-mentioned Paper Mario, there's also Eternal Darkness, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and THQ's Aidyn Chronicles, the platform's first RPG. Nothing like going out with a bang! Now if only Nintendo could release its GameCube with as much support from third parties as the Nintendo 64 got from first and second parties.

Somebody remind me to buy the ReBoot Season 3 DVDs this weekend before the January 23rd preorder discount disappears.

Indy review is up. Next review will be Vanishing Point for Sega Dreamcast, despite the fact that later this month I'll also be reviewing Ford Racing for PlayStation. If I can get my hands on a copy of the Sega Smash Pack (Genesis Greatest Hits) Dreamcast CD, I'll review that, too - though having been a Nintendo junkie until the 32/64-bit generation, I don't have much experience with the original games. Phantasy Star Online and Paper Mario are also potential candidates.

Work continues on the web page. I've rearranged the navbar (look left) and added a links page with links to some of my favorite gaming (and one notable non-gaming) sites. I'll be adding syndication information to the "About Gamebits" page, as well as brief bios of all the contributing writers (whose reviews I still have to add to this site). Navbars on all the reviews coming soon, too.

Where's my Dreamcast broadband adaptor?!

Finished my review of Indiana Jones this morning. In accordance with my policy of not scooping my own paper, I'll post it online next week.

R.A. Salvatore, the fantasy author responsible the novelization of Star Wars Episode II, called today to say his publisher will not permit me an interview at this time. Maybe next month.

So instead I'll be reviewing Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine, a Nintendo 64 game that's available exclusively from Blockbuster. I hope that's okay with Lucas.

It was recommended I review Vanishing Point for Dreamcast instead, but I can't get my hands on it at any of the rental or retail outlets around here. My friend at Tiptonium claims to have become Vanishing Point's slave, so it must be good.

Also got an email today that I can expect Ford Racing for PlayStation at the end of this month.

I'm working on the web page. This news section, for example, is new. You like?
